WD-40 Bike Cleaner – how to clean mountain bike

Who would not like to take a mountain bike ride! However, with such intentions, you must remember to properly care for your bike. Below you will find some information on how to do it with the help of WD-40 Bike Cleaner, regardless of how dirty your bike would be:

Washing the bike

The first step to do when cleaning a mountain bike is to thoroughly rinse it with a garden hose. It is a good idea to use a bicycle foot or a special stand in this situation, so that the bike stays in the same position for the whole time of cleaning. If you are using a hose with very high pressure, you have to do it carefully, because standing near the bicycle and spraying with water with high pressure, you can damage individual elements of the bicycle. Washing the bike with a garden hose and an ordinary sponge will allow you to get rid of excess dust and greasy stains from your mountain bike.

After pre-washing the bike, it’s time to use heavy artillery. The point is to get the brushes now and start scrubbing to remove dirt from the bike. However, this operation will not be completely without sense if you do not use the help of a high quality bike cleaner, eg WD-40 Bike Cleaner. In addition to helping you get rid of the dirt that is on your bike, it will also give it a great glow.

WD-40 Bike Cleaner was created specifically for cleaning bicycles. This means that you no longer have to rely on universal products to clean everything. There is already a product specifically for cleaning the bike.

Drive and suspension

When it comes to cleaning mountain bikes, you will certainly have to devote the most time and energy to thorough cleaning of the drive and suspension. Considering how important it is for you to clean these elements, it will be wise to use the WD-40 Bike Cleaner mentioned above . It will get through the coating of dust and greasy dirt that accumulated on individual elements of your bike for some time.

Rinse and dry

After cleaning the most important parts of the bike, the time has come for a simpler operation, ie rinsing. Rinsing the mountain bike with clean water will not only remove all the remnants of chemicals that you have used, but also the remains of dirt that may still be on the bike.

After rinsing the bike, you have to dry it. It is best to use a clean, dry cloth. Make sure that the most important elements such as the drive or suspension are thoroughly dried. You can also leave your mountain bike to dry in the sun.

Lubrication of the suspension

When your bike is already completely cleaned – thanks to the WD-40 Bike Cleaner and other means – time to lubricate its individual elements. To properly lubricate the suspension of the mountain bike, it must be removed from the stand and grease applied to the front of the suspension. When applying grease, you must check that it does not run down towards the brakes. Repeat the same procedure for the rear shock absorber. Finally, remove the excess grease with a cloth.

Lubrication of the drive system

After successfully lubricating the suspension, you must do the same with the drive system. Before you start, turn the pedal several times to remove residual water after cleaning. By turning the pedal slowly, you can apply grease to the surface of the chain. That’s enough.
